Let us all together discuss about World Environment Day 2025. It is our environment that gives us life, so why not we learn about our environment today.

Environment, as the name suggests, is the environment around us.

In which all the vegetation of the environment, all types of living beings including animals and humans and the physical environment associated with them are called environment.

Importance of World Environment Day

It is not possible for a single person, a society or a country to deal with the crisis that has come upon the environment, rather it is necessary to discuss it on a large scale in a planned manner.

Therefore the importance of World Environment Day increases even more.

Objective of World Environment

We can understand the objective of World Environment in these three points –

First –

To stop the deforestation of forests. Man is a social being and he needs better woods for his living and public facilities, for which he is destroying forests. This selfish nature of man has created a problem not only for humans but for the entire animal world.

Second –

To maintain the animal diversity and to protect the animals which are becoming extinct is an important objective.

Third –

To make people aware about nature and environment.

Why is World Environment Day celebrated?

Understanding the importance of environment, different countries of the world decided to celebrate World Environment Day. Today almost 144 countries together celebrate World Environment Day.

History of World Environment Day

Let us all together know what is the history of World Environment Day. World Environment Day was first organised in 1972 by the United Nation Sangh. Here 119 countries together had a global discussion on the issue of environment.

When is World Environment Day celebrated?


World Environment Day is being celebrated every year since 05 June 1974. But during the Covid pandemic, no such event was organised.

05 June has been fixed for World Environment Day.

World Environment 2025 Topic and Host

Subject – “To eliminate plastic production”

Host 2025 – South Korea .

Every religion has the same message, plant trees…save the environment.

Today, on the occasion of Vishwa Environment Day, let us know what all things have been said about environment and nature in our religious texts.

  1. Sikhism — Guru Nanak Dev Ji told the earth as mother, in Sikhism all the gurus have talked about the connection with nature and nature. All the people have been advised to plant trees. Gurunanak Dev Ji has said “Holy Guru, Water Father, Mother and Earth”

Isaiah—The Bible gives the message of protecting nature. The Bible teaches to protect and respect the environment and nature.

In this religion, humans have been entrusted with the responsibility of protecting other living beings.

Islam — Plants and greenery are given special importance in Islam.
The Prophet of Islam has said that as long as a tree remains green, the person who plants it will keep getting the reward. The leaves of the tree mention God.

Hindu — In Geeta, Shri Krishna has described nature as mother.

In Sanatan culture, trees and plants have been given the status of gods. Special importance has been given to the worship of peepal, amla, neem, banyan, tulasi. Worship of rivers and Govardhan worship, worship of Sun God in Chhat Puja, Vat Savitri worship, Hariyali Teej, all these festivals show the special importance of nature.

Summary

World Environment Day gives us the message that if there is environment, we exist. Just as we are conscious about our health in our daily lives, we should be conscious about our environment as well. We need to be careful while using materials that harm the environment, such as plastic. We should limit the use of these harmful substances as much as possible, so that water, air, land and our atmosphere can remain safe.
